Antisemitic attack was carried out on the Shamir Jewish community center in Moscow. The crime took place late evening of the 20th September.
The drunk assailant tried to enter the community premises and after he failed, he threw the Chanukiah from the porch, removed the plaque with the name of the organization, broke the mailbox and knocked the number off the Rabbi’s car. At the same time, the assailant shouted antisemitic slogans.
There were several people in the community who locked the door and called the police. Police officers detained the perpetrator and took him to the Perovo police station.
Berl Tsisin , the Rabbi of the community, commented on the incident: «Community had no conflicts with the attacker and such incidents have not happened since the early 2000s».
