Verdict was handed down against a vandal who in September 2019 desecrated Holocaust memorial in Aksai village (Volgograd region). The Aksai Memorial is dedicated to the memory of the 68 Jews executed here by the Nazis during the occupation in 1942-1943 and was erected on the initiative of the Russian Jewish Сongress in 2018.
By decision of the Court, the offender, a 30-year-old local resident, was sentenced to 280 hours community service. The aggrieved party in the case, along with the village authorities, was found Volgograd Jewish community.
